How grand is it at the GRAND!

I don’t know about you guys but I think this view is mesmerizing from the DVC Grand Floridian! These types of views are what transformed our Disney vacations from good to addicting. Since we went on our first DVC stay, I have become more and more obsessed with the views from our room. For us, the view enhances our vacation tremendously. I love to take my tea out on the balcony in the morning and just soak in the Disney all around me. The low playing theme music of the individual resort helps with immersion. Boat horns, train horns, birds and water splashing against the rocks are all things I thoroughly enjoy hearing. With that said, some rooms do not come with these tantalizing sounds. My goal with this blog is to give you a general idea of what to expect from each room.

Balcony sun and noise

Another thing I like to take note of is… what time the sun is on the balconies. As you would assume, it gets pretty hot in Florida. Sitting out and broiling on the balcony isn’t on my magical vacation list. The above pictures were taken at 9:30A.M. and the balcony is at full sun which is a down side, unless it’s cold. This section is awesome because around 11:00 A.M. it is part shade. You can sit in enough shade and it will be that way the rest of the day. The rest of the rooms on the longer corridor get full sun an hour or so longer.

Walking traffic is pretty minimal but there are the occasional families coming through but typically no big disturbance in your relaxing. The boat horns can be heard pretty clearly because of the proximity to the dock. The train horn from the Magic Kingdom is also able to be heard, an added bonus at least to us. The ambiance music of the Grand is parlor music or ragtime which is played at a low volume.

Nighttime Beauty

Night time….words just can’t capture and frankly not even pictures can!!!! It is absolutely magical, not to mention the fireworks and the piped in music from Magic Kingdom. Oh and don’t forget about the water parade. Utterly peaceful, gorgeous and frankly the pictures do not display the beauty in any of the photos. The Grand Floridian DVC is my favorite resort and my favorite view. I will be posting some videos on Instagram of night and day from off our balcony.

End rooms at Grand Floridian DVC

End Room

This room is at the end of the hallway so it gives you the ability to see the new Polynesian Island Tower and the wedding pavilion. It would be a challenge to see if you were further down the hallway. The room next to it ,which would end in 16 is a one bedroom. As you can see in the pictures, it has a white privacy divider that would hinder that additional view of the wedding pavilion. I will, in the future, be posting pictures from a previous stay in a room ending in 16 so keep an eye out for it. I hope this helps in your room requests as I know I have appreciated when others have posted their views. Also, a fantastic resource that I have used in the past is Touring Plans.
